About Me

Mercer-Chris Welcome to ChrisMercer.net.

For nearly 50 years, I’ve focused on one central idea: building value. Initially, that meant businesses. As founder of Mercer Capital, I had the privilege of helping owners understand, grow, and ultimately transition the value they created. Along the way, we built a firm with the same intent—successfully transitioning management to capable insiders and ownership primarily through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This has created a meaningful path for our team to share in what they continue to build. Today, my focus is evolving. I’m semi-retired, and still engaged with a handful of long-standing clients and projects that keep me thinking. But the bigger shift is personal. After a lifetime of valuing businesses, I’m more interested in what it means to value life—how we live, how we age, and how we do both with intention. This blog reflects that shift. It draws on decades of experience, but looks forward—toward living well, staying engaged, and aging gratefully. I spend most of the year at our home in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, and the rest in Memphis or traveling. From Building Value to Living It—Aging Gratefully
