Situated in the town of Birkenhead, England, UK, the Charles Thompson Mission was founded in 1892 by Charles Thompson. His desire, to alleviate the circumstances of the needy, stemming from his love for the Lord Jesus Christ. The work being carried on, after his death, in 1903 by his daughter, Miss Annie Thompson, O.B.E.

Today the mission continues, led by the superintendent Mr Rob Jeffs, his wife Joyce and many other helpers.
Household items, food, clothing and toys are donated to the Mission and these are given away to those who are in particular need of them, free of charge.
Also Monday to Friday every morning, hot food is provided for the homeless and needy and endless cups of tea!
As in the early days, adults who come to the Mission are taken on free outings and the children on a free holiday and there are several parties given during the year.

The Mission is the oldest of its kind in Birkenhead. Yet its aim is still the same as in the early days that is to help anyone in need and to tell them about the love of God.
